According to leading Belgian psychotherapist Esther Perel, the reason why the long term monogamy may not work for everyone (why sexuality suffers, and partners don’t connect as deeply as the time passes) is due to the opposing needs human beings have.

There is a 2 hour limit to use the Private room. Rooms at this time cannot be reserved in advance; only once you are at the club.

There is no charge to use the Private Room beyond the door fee for that day.

There must be at least 2 people to use the room.  The room cannot be used for solo play.

An ID and Credit Card must be presented at the Pay station to use the room or a $40 cash deposit if you do not have a credit card. By providing us your details, you become responsible for this room within this 2 hour time limit.

You will be provided a key.  Please return the key to the Pay station when you are done.

If after 2 hours you have not vacated the room, a staff member will come in and remind you.

There can be No extreme BDSM play. (No blood play, water sports, asphyxiation, rape role playing) Do Not leave your Sub tied up and leave the room.

No outside alcohol is permitted or drug paraphernalia in that room or anywhere else at Oasis. If any of these items are found, we will ask you to leave, with the possibility of being banned.

The Private room is not a change room and you are not allowed to store your items in there. We provide complimentary lockers for that purpose.

We had heard great things about ‘Naughty in Nawlins’ so decided to hit the road in July and we had an amazing time. The four-day annual event for couples kicked off on the 4^th of July with a group field trip to watch the dueling fireworks show by two barges over the river in New Orleans, just a short walk from the host hotel. The Astor Crowne Plaza right next to the famous Bourbon Street, along with another hotel nearby, get completely taken over for this event. Billed as the largest swinger convention in the world they have 600 couples attending each year. Oasis had a table among other vendors and was spreading the word about the club to our US neighbours.

Each day there are workshops at the hotel by sex educators, plus an entire floor of the hotel was transformed to a series of focused playrooms, including space for everything from the dungeon, to a dark room, to the orgy room. Each evening the hotel grand ballroom played host to a themed ball which was a spectacle to behold–attendees at this event go all out for costumes! I’ve attended many clubs with themes and wasn’t prepared for the high percentage of ‘Naughty’ couples who came ready with costumes for each night. This event is organized by Bob and Tess, owners of French Connection Events, are from New Orleans and besides being amazing hosts, they run a naughty cruise and this year have expanded to offer a ‘Naughty In LA’ event right before one of their Naughty Cruise launches and heads to Alaska. You can attend either event separately or attend Naughty  in LA and keep the party going on the cruise.

One of the great things about Naughty in Nawlins was that they partnered with local bars to offer a number of offsite events so you didn’t just come to the hotel and stay there. Most of the venues where events were held had live bands, even on the weekday days. My favourite venue and event was the bull riding, where I tried riding the bull for the first time ever –naked of course. These venues ensured that only those with the convention passes attended so we knew that everyone there was ‘one of us’. Another highlight was the swinger parade where we were all encouraged to wear white and make signs (cardboard and markets provided) and they gave us complimentary parasols to twirl as we walked. Just like in Treme, the HBO series, our parade was led by a New Orleans marching band and we made sure the locals knew we were there. My favourite sign read “Don’t hate us cause you ain’t us”, a great swinger motto. The food was awesome with most restaurants offering their version of a Po Boy (a gourmet sandwich).

The Crowne Plaza is a wonderful host hotel with an outdoor pool on the third floor where people were naked and no one seemed to mind quiet sex taking place. With the balcony overlooking Bourbon Street, you could safely watch the night life taking place and drop appreciative beads to those that would flash for you. They wisely didn’t schedule any morning events, but there were generally at least two things to do at any given time, so there was never a dull moment. Many people left their hotel room doors open to invite those walking by to introduce themselves, watch or come join the fun. We found the people very friendly and even met some fellow Canadians.

Overall, we would return to this well run event in a heartbeat. In fact, Oasis is going to organize a group to attend next year, so we hope you’ll join us in NOLA July 25 to July 29, 2018. In the meantime, if you can’t wait that long and are looking for a fun fall trip this year to enjoy some final heat before winter hits, we encourage you to attend Naughty in La starting Sep 30, 2017 or join any of the French Connection Events. The Oasis AquaFlirts enjoyed a busy weekend, attending summer events on both Friday August 11th and Saturday August 12th.

The annual Taste of the Danforth festival brought out the AquaFlirts on Friday evening. Despite the rain, they were able to enjoy the street festivities, food and talking to various folks about the club and our fabulous facilities.

On Saturday August 12th, the powerful and important march Slutwalk returned to the streets of Toronto. This transnational protest calls for an end to rape culture and stands in  support with survivors of sexual violence.  Oasis Aqualounge and the AquaFlirts  stand behind the message that women should be free to express their sexuality, to dress (or undress) without fear of violence and to support one another without judgement when it comes to choices over their body, desires and identities.

The AquaFlirts gathered at Barbara Hall Park to make protest signs prior to the march and to connect with other sex-positive folks in attendance.  The energy remained strong as hundreds rallied in solidarity against laws  that continue to perpetuate violence against women. It was truly an empowering afternoon to remember.

August 26th marks the annual Go Topless Day and the Oasis AquaFlirts are celebrating with a topless picnic at Nathan Philips Square from 12pm-3pm.

Saturday August 26th marked the official, worldwide  Go Topless Day.  Go Topless Day is always held on August 26th, as it aligns with ‘Women’s Equality Day,’ wherein women won the right to vote in 1920.

The Vanity Adult Fan Expo celebrated its third event on Saturday September 16th, at Bloke Nightclub.  This one-day exhibitor show brought out the biggest names in adult entertainment. Madison Ivy, Mia Malkova, Nicolette Shea and Adriana Checkik were the featured talent, bringing together fans and other folks within the sex-positive community.

While I am definitely not new to the world of vibrators, I am new writing sex toy reviews. Inside, the Crescendo was snuggled against a soft, black, quilted bag (for travel) and the instructions were discreetly tucked into a black, compact envelop. It was as though this toy wanted to share sexy secrets with me; we were on a journey together. Oh yes, there was also silky black ribbon to boot. If this was a first date, the Crescendo killed it with an exquisite first impression.

As I examined the contents, I noticed the  charging station. The flat, circular charger fits into any USB port but the toy itself does not  plug into anything. Instead,  the toy is laid on top of the charger, giving it a very cool, wireless feel. As someone who came of sex toy age, handling bulky, AA or AAA batteries, this was  new for me. I currently own a few vibes that charge via USB but nothing with ‘no strings attached.’   Overall, the design of the Crescendo is modern, high-tech and downright sexy.

However, as much as the packaging and design had me swooning at first sight, that is not what gets me off, so let’s get to the important stuff.

The Crescendo offers various vibration patters, via a six-speed motor. While it claims to offer intense sensations, I personally did not find that to be the case and neither did my partner.  Since I regularly use a cordless wand (which is intense), I decided to give myself a vibrator break of about a week. I returned the Crescendo to my sweet spot but still…not quite there.  Despite the options available to me,  this toy didn’t quite do it for me.  However, I did enjoy how quiet the motors were and the soft, purring noises it gave off.

One critique is the buttons that control the vibration patterns and the volume (found more towards the tip of the toy) were too small and too close together. It was a bit tricky to amp up the volume and also a little awkward to turn it on and off. If the design ever changes, I would recommend more spacing and large buttons, for easier access.

That said, I did a little experimenting with the shape because the biggest feature of this vibe is that it bends into different positions and can be used solo or with a partner. I  tried bending it to fit inside of me, attempting to hit my G-spot. It could be the shape of my own body but the toy didn’t curve quite enough to properly hit it.  However, it did provide a yummy sensation when curving the around my vulva, rubbing against my clit.

My favorite way to use this toy was to stick it through my  harness, bending the wider, flatter end against my clit and poking out the thinner end for penetration. However, my partner doesn’t enjoy internal vibrations, so this didn’t really work for dual play.

As for solo use, this was enjoyable! By sticking the vibe through a harness and bending into the more sensitive areas of my body, I then had my hands free; a great way to stimulate myself while manually pleasing my partner.

In considering all of the factors, I came to the conclusion that the Crescendo is best used as a warm up during foreplay. The vibrations are pleasant and it offers a great tease. I think this would be a great toy for those who are new to vibrators or for those who are more sensitive in nature.

I need to mention  that the Crescendo can be paired with the MysteryVibe App so that you can customize your vibrations on your smart phone. This is a great feature for someone who wants to further personalize their sensual experience.

Overall, I am glad to add this toy to my tickle truck as it adds  variety to my play but the cordless wand will always have a special place in my heart.

Polyamorous lifestyle requires quite a bit of letting go…
