What better way to kick off the spirit of summer then going on a road trip. A motley assortment of Oasis Aqualounge employees piled into a twelve seat Mercedes Passenger Van at the crack of dawn on Thursday morning; all ready for the long haul to Frolicon in Atlanta, Georgia. The excitement for the trip managed to out weigh the over all sleepiness felt by all ten co-worker’s and before they knew it they reached the Windsor/Detroit border, the first leg of the journey.

As Tim Horton’s morphed into Waffle Houses and the landscapes became lush, green rolling hills it was apparent the destination was getting closer. Normally the drive to Atlanta is about fourteen/fifteen hours but unfortunately due to late night construction as the highway split to Atlanta the Oasis “Bang Bus” (as Marketing Coordinator Holly dubbed it), made the journey in a whopping seventeen and a half! The very weary Oasis team arrived at the Sheraton Hotel for Frolicon at nearly 3:00 am Friday morning!

The next two days at Frolicon were a whirlwind of networking, promoting, attending workshops, meeting new friends, playing, partying and definitely not a lot of sleeping. In true Oasis style some outrageous activities happened off the clock; such as hotel room tattoos, random hook ups and a late night trip to the local strip clubs. The Clermount Lounge, located in the basement of a condemned hotel was more of an attraction then a strip club…you’d have to see it to believe it! Cheetahs was the holy grail of strip clubs, it featured a buffet of the hottest women and you could even smoke inside. Needless to say we were glad we saved our “singles” for tipping at Cheetahs, the lap dances were epic.

On Sunday May 8th the gang piled back into the “Bang Bus” again for the next part of the trip; the vacation to Nashville, Tennessee. On the way out of Atlanta the group had to make a pit stop at the famous fast food joint Varsity’s, an Atlanta tradition since 1928. Full of smiles, cheeseburgers, fries & milk shakes the troupe drove onward an easy three and a half hours to Music City.

The next day and half was filled with honky tonk bars (Roberts was so good they hit it up twice), authentic Tennessee BBQ, sight seeing, shopping, tattoos and even more debauchery. The highlight was at Coyote Ugly’s, where the Oasis gals took turns dancing on the bar and nearly got the “boot”for being too risqué! Nashville was such a lively city, the group packed in as much as possible but a few more days would have been perfect. 

Tuesday morning at 10:00 am the group left Nashville titillated, more tattooed and tuckered out. Their long journey home fell silent as well deserved sleep crept in. The group arrived back in Toronto safe and sound clocking in a fourteen and a half hour return trip. Six days on the road, ten Oasis staff and countless memories made this road trip one hell of a hedonistic adventure!

On Sunday May 22nd, the spacious park on Queen St. West-Trinity Bellwood’s Park-hosted their 3rd Annual Bed In event. This gathering celebrated community spirit, sustainable living and provided a chance for people to picnic together on the grass under the beautiful Sunday sunshine.  The 3rd Annual Bed In started the afternoon off with a free yoga class and continued the day with live music, a drum circle and even an art station with attendees could help design a large mural.

The Oasis AquaFlirts were in attendance, socializing and spreading  the word about our clothing-optional, sexually liberated environment. Coupons were provided to those who are interested in checking out the club for the first time and the AquaFlirts were on hand to answer any questions about our exciting upcoming summer events. They had a chance to frolick in the sun, make new friends and kiss lovers on the cheek.

Saturday June 11th  marked the  annual World Naked Bike Ride in Toronto.  This  ride is a peaceful, fun-loving protest against oil dependency and urban pollution. It also promotes safe bike riding and alternative forms of transportation. The Oasis AquaFlirts took full advantage of the beautiful, sunny weather and rode down from Oasis Aqualounge to Coronation Park to engage in socializing, body painting and spreading the word about the club.

This is the 3rd year that Oasis Aqualounge has participated in the ride. The event drew hundreds of  participants  and it seems to grow more vibrant, colorful and even more naked every year! We want to thank guests and friends of the club who joined us during the ride, making it a beautiful, community tradition and a unique way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

On Thursday June 23rd, Marketing Director/Event Producer, Fatima Mechtab presented at the 38th Annual Guelph Sexuality Conference. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Pleasure,’ and Fatima developed a topic entitled ‘Inclusivity & Pleasure-Barriers, Challenges & Rewards Inside Oasis Aqualounge.’   This presentation aimed to address the broad concept of inclusivity as relates to a business such as Oasis Aqualounge.  It posed such questions as: how does a business strive to be inclusive when faced with such issues of accessibility and how can a business maintain the needs of it’s core demographic while expanding to include other identities and interests?

This talk was delivered  at Rozanski Hall inside Guelph University.  Other sex-positive community members and educators were also present including Carlyle Jansen and Dr. Jessica O’Reilly. The presentation was 75 minutes in length, which included a section for Q & A.  A diverse group of  attendees were present and engaged the speaker with interesting and challenging questions.  The conference allowed a wonderful opportunity to discuss the progress of Oasis Aqualounge in terms how inclusive the business has become, over the past 5 years.

We look forward to presenting again and want to thank the organizers for allowing Oasis Aqualounge to be a part of this year’s conference.

The Oasis AquaFlirts  were in full flirty force during Pride 2016, which was celebrated throughout the entire month of June.  This fun-loving and diverse team of promotional staff spread the Oasis message of sex and body positivity in and around the Church and Wellesley Village  and the downtown core.  In addition to offerings of 50% coupons for first-time guests of the club, the AquaFlirts also handed out branded Pride tattoos, that were created especially for Pride Month-proud and flirty indeed!

For my first toy review I would like to review one of the top selling North American toys for couples – the We-Vibe. The concept of the We-Vibe is still very much one of a kind and really paved the way for similar concepts. Our First Orgy

The Oasis AquaFlirts  joined the SLUTWALK event on Saturday August 6th, marching in solidarity and calling for an end to rape culture.  SLUTWALK originated in Toronto in  April 2011 and has since become a global march.  This rally welcomes people of all genders  to reclaim the word ‘slut,’ to end victim blaming in sexual assault cases and to be empowered by their dress and sexuality.

Oasis Aqualounge believes in providing women and their partners a safe space to express their sexuality and their bodies. We strive to create an atmosphere that is liberal and non-judgmental and a venue that  is very strict on consent.  We embrace the ‘radical’ notion that women and people can dress in whatever way that pleases them without fear of sexual assault and/or harassment. Sadly, we understand that that such violence still occurs  and thus, events like SLUTWALK are important to support, to help carry the message.

The AquaFlirts are a team of sex/body-positive and liberal-minded individuals that believe in freely expressing their sexuality. They were excited to participate and to fight against sexism and sexual violence. Check out their photos below:

Miss F and the gang from Oasis Aqualounge took a trip to Las Vegas this past weekend to promote the club (and to play!) at the annual Vegas Exchange 2016 Lifestyle Convention. This 4-day  hotel takeover was held at the Alexis Park Resort and welcomed over 300 couples across North America.  This convention, which caters primarily to swingers was organized by SLS Parties-the ultimate guide to Lifestyle Entertainment. 

In addition to the opportunity to meet new couples, this event provided icebreakers and games, such as the Ms. SLS  Bikini contest and Meet and Greets, facilitated by the partnering company Topless Travel.  Adult industry celebrities such as  Penthouse Pet Misty Stone and Ron Jeremy were in attendance, as well as sex educator and relationship expert Dr. Jess O’Reilly , who provided a titillating workshop on Hotter Oral Sex Tips! Miss F and Judy also spoke at the convention with their presentation on ‘Toronto; The Swinger Capital of North America.’  With such liberal laws and a progressive, sex-positive attitude, Toronto definitely supports and caters to those in the Lifestyle, as well as couples looking for a place to explore and freely express their sexuality.

I’d like to begin this toy review for the Lelo Siri by stating that this is easily my favorite vibrator to date!  I definitely intend on updating to the Siri 2 just because the Siri by Lelo is incredible. The packaging for Lelo products is always gorgeous which is  why I’m always s excited about a new Lelo toy.

This particular toy is primarily intended for clitoral stimulation. First impressions being, it is a very small and discreet egg shaped vibe that is visually very cute but also very soft to the touch with it’s phthalate-free silicone. Siri is very discreet in size not to mention very quiet as well for any of you out there where a quiet vibrator is a must.

Siri has a number of popular functions such as slow pulse, quick pulse, escalating pulse, decreasing pulsations as well as a steady vibration option with the ability to gradually increase or decrease intensity.  I am a bit of a Goldie-Locks when it comes to finding just the right intensity with a toy. Some are not enough, some are too much and then sometimes there is the toy that offers the perfect combination of the two. I find this perfect combination of intensities with low rumbling vibrations and high buzzy vibrations in the Siri. Siri is rechargeable and can last for up to approximately 4 hours so I do find it to be a very reliable toy. The shape of the toy is a huge plus for those of you that need to reach that exact spot that drives you crazy. The egg shape provides that slight point while still being soft and curved so that it still feels very comfortable.

The only con I can think of with Siri is that it’s not fully sumersible  in water. It’s not a toy that can be brought into the bath. I wouldn’t even risk bringing it into the shower  because the charging port does not have a seal on it and the buttons are exposed. This  leaves  space for water to get in and damage the toy. Just because some toys claim to be “waterproof” does not mean that they are. Bodily fluids? Sure! Submerged underwater? Bad idea. Sadly there are companies out there that will not honor the warranty on a toy with water damage even though they claimed it to be waterproof.

Always keep an eye when purchasing a toy to make sure that the charging port is sealed/covered and that the buttons for functions and speeds do not have cracks along the edges that water can get into. I’ve found that some of the best fully waterproof toys are 100% silicone meaning the entire exterior of the toy is silicone. If you don’t mind not being able to take your vibrator into the bath then Siri is a 10/10 score.  It is a must try if you’re seeking a cute, long lasting, small clitoral vibe. I’d highly recommend checking out Siri and Lelo’s selection at your local sex shop!

The Orchid G Spot Vibrator is great for beginners

As someone that hasn’t had much play with a g-spot vibrator,  this was incredibly fun and enjoyable. Good For Her helped me to find a new toy to try  something new. I recommend using  lube before inserting this toy as the material is a hard plastic. A quality water based lube is a great choice and  there are many good ones available. Today I had the pleasure of  reviewing the Love Button, which was to me  provided by the very helpful staff at Good For Her located in downtown Toronto.   The Love Button is an arousal balm and sensual enhancer for all sexes and genders.  I found  the balm was felt immediately;  I enjoy this tingling balm opposed to the more common oils,  since it feels much less messy  It’s easy to apply and I found that it can be felt strongly for up to 15 minutes clitorally (though everyone is different). Oasis Aqualounge exhibited at the 17th annual Everything To Do With Sex Show, which was held at the Enercare Centre from October 21st-October 23rd. The booth was designed to resemble a ‘mini Oasis,’ complete with a bed, which served to showcase our leather play furniture, lockers and a hot tub.

Visitors of the show were encouraged to enter into a draw to win a Couple’s Weekend Pass and staff handed out 50% coupons that provided reduced admission to first time visitors. Both customer service staff and the Oasis AquaFlirts represented the club, which provided a well-rounded perspective and answers to questions about the venue. I love getting to be creative with toys and I love  sex toys that can be used in multiple ways. I am excited to review  the Ultrazone Eve Vibrating Silicone Beads, which contain 9 vibrating functions and 5 pulse-quickening speeds. I had purchased these at the Everything To Do With Sex Show  hosted  in Toronto, this past fall. These beads are wireless and made with 100% silicone,  so they feel soft to the touch. Silicon toys are easy to wash by covering in your choice of toy cleaner and rinsed off in the sink.

You can insert the beads for internal G-spot stimulation while receiving oral or while using a clitoral vibe at the same time – or simply use the beads on their own if that works for you. Would I stop there?
